People 'will pay more for homes with nice neighbours'
Britons are prepared to pay more for homes if they believe they are
likely to have nice neighbours, it has been found.
New research from Lloyds TSB Insurance shows that people are
willing to stump up an additional £3,100 on average for this
purpose.
The study also suggested that Bradford is the place where
homeowners are considered the most considerate and tolerant.
Meanwhile, Swansea contains the tidiest people and Glasgow hosts
the most friendly, the poll noted.
Spokeswoman for Lloyds TSB Insurance Paula Llewellyn said: "Good
neighbours can have an invaluable impact on our wellbeing and can
help keep our property safe while away from home."
She added that people may wish to consider setting up Neighbourhood
Watch schemes, as they can enhance security and bring together
communities.
Once they have found areas with good residents, now may be a good
time for people to invest in homes, with Andrew Hagger from
Moneynet.co.uk recently suggesting the market is currently more
favourable to buyers than it has been for some time.
